The range is max−min. A new value can only push the maximum up or leave it alone, and can only push the minimum down or leave it alone, so

always. The range grows or stays put, and never shrinks.
Each of the others can fall. Adding a value below everything else drags the mean down, and it drags the median down too.
Even the IQR can shrink. Take 10,20,60,100,110 and use this lesson's convention for an odd count, leaving the middle value out of both halves. The halves are 10,20 and 100,110, so Q1=15 and Q3=105, giving an IQR of 90. Now add one value, 55.

The halves are now 10,20,55 and 60,100,110, so Q1=20 and Q3=100, and the IQR has fallen to 80.
