Math by First Principles is designed to collect as little information about you as possible. You do not need an account to learn or practice here, and your learning progress stays in your browser.

What we don't collect

You do not need to sign up or log in. The site does not ask for your name, email address, age, school, or other personal information to use it. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers or data brokers. The site does not use cookies to track you.

For students and parents

You can use the site without providing your name, age, email address, school, or other personal information. Your practice answers and learning progress stay in the browser on the device you are using.

Anonymous site analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are being used and improve the site. It does not use cookies, fingerprint individual visitors, or create advertising profiles. Like any web request, loading a page does send Cloudflare some technical information, such as your IP address, the page URL, the page you arrived from, and your browser type.

What stays on your device

Your theme choice, your progress through practice sets and chapter tests, and the Star problems and Core practice problems you mark completed or skipped are stored in your browser. They are not sent to Math by First Principles or synced between devices. Clearing this site's browser data removes them.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like other web hosting services, GitHub may process routine technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site.

Other websites

The site sometimes links to other websites for additional learning resources. Once you leave this site, that site's privacy practices apply.
